Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early roles on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael. She was in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed directors and actors on theatre and in television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust that he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford comes back to Broadway in 2023 where he'll play Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will be the producer and director for the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Over the course of two seasons, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You. In addition, she was on Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original performance in the role of Lauren on Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford has been raised in Denver currently splits her time traveling between Los Angeles & New York.
